In the land of Asia shall be born,

an ugly fellow, so fat & thick,

blowing loudly on his trumpet & horn,

& being blessed with the smallest dick.

But America is no longer a true Capitalist country or Economy its a true Socialist government and has been for some 35 years. Think about it when the Banks and the Auto industry went under they immediately got a handout  and when Wall St. got in trouble guess what another handout. But if we run a business and get in trouble will there be a hand out....No. But you better believe anyone with a yacht will get one. But this country is now run by the corporations and the other 99% are just lemmings.

Those actions were socialist not the entire government. We have had socialist institutions in the US government for much longer than that. USPS and the Parks system are socialist notions to the core. equal access and equal cost for all...Public Library system as well.

True there are always socialistic aspects to the governmnt but the complete take over didnt really happen until the late 70s early 80s. But right now the Government has it set up perfectly with the "Two" Party system to put on the dog and pony act like ther is really a choice but in reality they are all bought off by the corportations. And the only reason it didnt happen sooner was because Teddy Roosevelt fought the corporations with trustbusting bt now they have figured their way past the government by just having their own canidents in office and they Use the Republicans and Democrat parties as a way to keep the heat off of them

Interesting. I need to make sure the numbers are correct, but it looks like in 2012, P. Manning had a higher WCSN passer rating than A. Rodgers.

robertj72
robertj72

That wouldn't be strange...PManning had a phenomenal 3/4th of a regular season.

The deciding factor is probably his FUM%, which is lower than Rodgers'. I will look at this in more detail tomorrow.

Manti Te'o was confirmed he's talked with the Packers...

Was it really the Packers or someone pretending to be the Packers?

Is Te'o taking phone calls from teams?

this is the reason I hope he is drafted by a division rival

When a team calls to draft him...can he get excited? Doesn't he have to worry it's a hoax.

What is a Hollywood accent? I know Wisconsin, Boston, Texan, Southern, New York, Connetticutt....but what is a Hollywood accent?

Joedirte
Joedirte

Just watch guys like Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Bradley Cooper and you will see what I'm talking about. Its a dry monotone  kinda accent

robertj72
robertj72

Oh so clear, well pronounced, well spoken English. I think that is a lack of an accent not AN accent.

robertj72
robertj72

Sure, which is why he always plays a guy from the same region or a region unnamed. No one is casting Tommy Lee Jones as a gangster nor an englishman nor a Seattle hipster. He lacks that range. Costner is one that has been cast yet can't manipulate his voice and looks like a hack if not cast perfectly.

Joedirte
Joedirte

There are plenty of actors that never lose their accent like Tommy Lee Jones.

robertj72
robertj72

Yes but since we live in America it is a lack of one. for example if a Hollywood actor were going to play a midwesterner or a guy from the Bronx they would have to learn the accent. But if a midwesterner or New Yorker were going to play a Hollywood agent he would have to learn to eliminate his accent. Hence lack of an accent.

Joedirte
Joedirte

But to the people of England or Australlia it is seen as an American accent and many actors like the guy that played House MD or the guy that plays Rick on The Walking Dead are just some foreign actors that fake an American accent. But its all accents and you might not think of it as one but it still is.

robertj72

Well I am bicoastal. Father was Air Force. Mothers family from Missouri. Fathers from Carolinas and Georgia. So yes I have heard lots of accents...and with the exception of Valley Girl talk I would say SoCal is a lack of an accent more than an accent.

Joedirte
Joedirte

if thats how you itrepret it but I see it as dry and monotone. But your from So Cal so of course you think its clear and well pronounced

It has a large sense of unearned entitlement in the accent.

He has a postdoc in orthopedic surgery. Usually that many years of schooling alters your speech patterns a bit.

I think a bigger problem is that our foreign policy is predicated on protecting the interests of big business abroad.

Joedirte
Joedirte

Well the main problem with the US is that we have become big brother or the worlds police and noone likes the cops. What we need to do is get back to running our country as a business and turn a profit and stop spending wasteful money on foreigners who dont even like or want us.

___pb___
___pb___

I just have never put down roots anywhere I lived. I don't identify with or define myself by a region or an accent. Plus I like being elusive and being able to fit in anywhere. If I believed at all in our foreign policy, I might have considered going into the National Clandestine Service. I think I would love the work. Unfortunately, I fundamentally disagree with what we do abroad.

Joedirte

People think ones intelligence is stemmed from ones accent and the stereotype of Southerners being dumb hicks or Americans being dumb Yanks and the English and French being cultured is absured

___pb___
___pb___

I don't have a native accent, though. No one ever guesses I am from Wisconsin, although my siblings all have extremely thick Wisconsin accents. I have been all over the world. I don't identify with any one region. There is a reason why, when I am speaking German, I am almost never identified as American by native speakers.

Joedirte
Joedirte

I'm like I talk the way I talk and if you have any problems with my accent then fuck off. And thats how everyone should be and just embrace who they really are.

___pb___
___pb___

My accent varies drastically based on what I am doing. When I was in the army, I adopted the idiotic military pseudoaccent to avoid getting the shit beat out of me. They don't like "college boys" in the army. When I am reading Shakespeare, I have a fairly deep, cultured sounding voice. When I am in a bio class, I sound articulate. If talking to blue-collar Wisconsinites, I pick up my Wisconsin accent. . It all depends.

Usually I avoid using a Wisconsin accent at all costs, though; I think it sounds revolting

Joedirte
Joedirte

I hate phony accents talk lke you were brought up

Joedirte
Joedirte

Besides I think you should keep your accent Not everyone should try to sound like a hollywood accent asshole

And he has worked in alabama for decades so any kind of speech pattern developed could have been lost. Remember when Madonna had that dumbass English accent when she was married to Guy Richie.
