Nailed It! Wildcard Round

By
Updated: January 10, 2013

nailed-it_o_201328The Wildcard Round. The start of the playoffs. The time when four teams’ Super Bowl hopes get dashed, and four continue on. It also appears to be the time when our prognosticators have no real clue as to what they should predict. It was not a very good week for the Pantheon, but we were able to add three more names. Read on to find out exactly just who Nailed It!

Final score

These are the people who have (somehow) correctly predicted the final outcome of a game. The only shot that was called that could be considered more famous than these belongs to . Bow down before their wisdom! (And make sure you ask them for next week’s lotto numbers.)

  • None this round.

Scoring differential

These are the ones who correctly predicted the margin by which the victors would best their competition. These are also the ones to consult if you want to bet the spread.

  • Wild Card Round: Minnesota @ Green Bayjwoude23 and Raji boobs both correctly predicted a 14-point victory for the Packers.

Total combined score

These are those who somehow managed to pick the correct total score but did not have any clue in how the teams would actually get there. Still, if you want to bet an over/under, you could do worse than consulting with them.

  • Wild Card Round: Seattle @ WashingtonRaji boobs correctly predicted both teams would combine for 38 points.

Sometimes it takes beautiful nails to Nail It, and Lana Del Rey certainly has fine nails.

Winning team’s score

  • None this week.

Against the grain

Oftentimes, our picks will be unanimous. However, there are those who will sometimes walk their own path.

  • None this round.

Wrap-up

The Divisional Round is now upon us, and I hope that things will go better for our prognosticators this week. The Pantheon has grown to be quite large, but is still hungry for more playoff CYSTs! So if you would like to have your name forever enshrined in the vast expanse that is the internet, simply call your shot in the comment section below for any of the playoff games this round. I will be reviewing the comments, and keeping track.

Also, remember that you can still read about those who have made correct predictions in the past (or simply revel in your past greatness), by visiting our Pantheon. In the meantime, let’s give a little congratulatory clap to those who are listed in this article. Or not. Your choice.

Curious as to how this works w/Rivera interviewing w/Toub, considering he's under contract. Trying 2C if Car. asked/received permission.

Uh oh... word is Rivera might give Toub an "assistant head coach" title making it a promotion so he can leave the Bears?!?!

Former NBA but more notably Ohio State star center Greg Oden is looking to return from 5 knee surgeries and not playing more than 20 games in 5 seasons.... reportedly.. "wants to play for the Miami Heat"...

From the Suh article:

"All along, we recognized that she was going to get some amount of money to compensate her for her injuries," Lehner told the newspaper. "This was more than we think a jury would have given, but it ended the case for Ndamukong, and that's what we wanted."

------

In other words, "Suh's a lying piece of shit and we can't let this get to court."

Don't know if scooped...

The real question, though, is how much did he have to pay for the injuries to the drinking fountain that night?

The Steelers have waived RB Rainey one year after drafting him from Florida after a battery charge.  This guy is maybe top 5 fastest players in the NFL.. I love this kid as a burner.. i have been wanting GB to get a burner like this in the backfield for some time.. we didn't get LaMichael James last year.. we have DuJuan Harris now.. and I hope we draft Kenjon Barner from Oregon this off season.. but this Rainey kid is a playmaker.

all 4 NFCN teams in the top 7.  That's what happens when you have three 10-win teams in your division (and play two divisions that each put two teams in the playoffs)

What sucks is he had no serious injuries before the NBA. People like to say he was injury prone before coming to the Blazers but he had on wrist injury and hip surgery when he was really young because he was growing so fast. Then he hist s the Blazers and his knees just fell apart. Starting with the one kneecap getting chipped and snowballing from there.

 He's played in 82 games

Drives a Nissan Frontier. I'd assume he was an asshole BEFORE he parked.

Can't really say I blame him.

Do you really have that much confidence in during the playoffs?

Barner has been pretty amazing and he should go relatively late but I think the Pack would have to maybe make some deals to and try and take a guy like him a bit earlier than projected.

they had like a 100 pt lead on SOS about two or three weeks before the playoffs started.

Chicken vs the egg argument there.

No.  I think he's their weak spot.   However, the ShiteHawks are gonna regress toward the mean and play a shitty game on the road.

... that, and I'd rather face the Failcons than the ShiteHawks.  ARodge is Death on Wheels in domes

I have GB taking... WR Terrance Williams, S Kenny Vacarro, RB La'Vonte Bell, OG Larry Warford (KEN), RB/WR Kenjon Barner, S DeVonte Holloman, OT Jake Olson (CMU), QB Nick Florence (BAY), and ILB AJ Klein (ISU)

That means he's ancient.

I'm not as sold on Bell as you guys are...

JVince11

it got a lot deeper than you think.. the Standford RB, the UCLA RB, the UNC RB, Bell, and Barner are all there that I can think of off the top of my head.  All of them are 3rd round or better.

Kuato Face
Kuato Face moderator

I like a number of those picks but what worries me about Barner is how many teams will like to pick him up. The draft is going to be pretty thin at RB and there are a lot of teams who want an upgrade that just isn't going to come from FA.

You would think the Steelers would be okay with their players having girl trouble.

I mean, their QB is a rapist after all.

One question... did he put baby powder on his hand before slapping her?

This is at least the second time that Rainey has been accused of a crime in which the victim was a woman he was in a relationship with. In 2010, when he played at Florida, he was arrested and charged with felony stalking after threatening his ex-girlfriend.

The other guy on the steelers roster was charged with 18 counts of crime after leading police on a wild car chase and he remains on their roster.
